At-Tibyan Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes At-Tibyan) in Deli Serdang was established in early January 2020 as an initiative by the Ar-Risalah Al-Khairiyah Foundation in Medan. Its founding was inspired by the growing public demand for formal education integrated with the pesantren (Islamic boarding school) system, particularly in Deli Serdang and generally across Indonesia.

Alhamdulillah, in October 2020, one of At-Tibyan’s educational units—Madrasah Tsanawiyah At-Tibyan—was officially registered under the Ministry of Religious Affairs with NSM: 121212070158. Following that, in December 2021, At-Tibyan Islamic Boarding School Deli Serdang was formally registered under the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia with NSP: 510012070055
