Monday Flag Ceremony at PONPES At Tibyan: Instilling Discipline and Nationalism
PONPES At Tibyan regularly holds a flag ceremony every Monday as part of character building and the cultivation of national values among its students. The ceremony is attended by all students, teachers, and the pesantren’s management. It takes place in the main courtyard of the campus in a solemn atmosphere, starting at 7:30 a.m.
The ceremony is led by carefully selected student officers, including the ceremony commander, flag raisers, Pancasila reader, and reader of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Each officer undergoes prior training to ensure the ceremony runs in an orderly and disciplined manner, following the established sequence.
In the address delivered by the ceremony supervisor, important messages are conveyed about discipline, responsibility, and the spirit of seeking knowledge. Students are also reminded to maintain noble character, uphold Islamic values, and contribute positively to society and the nation.
The Monday flag ceremony at PONPES At Tibyan is not merely a formal ritual, but also a means of character education that integrates Islamic principles with love for the homeland. Through this activity, the pesantren hopes to foster a generation of students who are faithful, knowledgeable, of noble character, and possess a strong sense of nationalism.
